The three FiiO Snowsky DISC finishes side by side, round screen lit

A round touchscreen

The Snowsky DISC sits in the palm: 68 x 68 x 12.9 mm for 77.2 g, in an aluminium alloy shell. Its fully laminated 1.8-inch round LCD shows 360 x 360 pixels and echoes the outline of a compact disc. The interface responds to fingers and buttons alike, with screen rotation and gesture control. FiiO offers three finishes: black, blue and pink.

Black portable player at three-quarter angle, 4.4 and 3.5 mm sockets and USB-C port

Two balanced CS43131

A dual-core Ingenic X2000 SoC drives two Cirrus Logic CS43131 converters, one per channel, in a fully balanced architecture. The headphone stage has its own power supply. On the 4.4 mm output at high gain the player delivers 280 mW per channel into 32 ohms, with a 129 dB signal-to-noise ratio and distortion below 0.0004 %. The 3.5 mm output stays at 125 mW per channel into the same load.

Three outputs, one player

The 3.5 mm socket takes single-ended headphones and doubles as a coaxial S/PDIF output, up to 192 kHz/24-bit and DSD64 over DoP. The 4.4 mm socket takes balanced cables. FiiO recommends impedances between 8 and 150 ohms on both outputs. In USB DAC mode the unit reaches 384 kHz/32-bit and acts as a sound card for a phone or a computer.

A local library, no subscription

Playback runs from a single microSD card of up to 2 TB: there is no internal memory. The in-house Linux-based system keeps to music alone and reads FLAC, WAV, AIFF and Apple Lossless up to 384 kHz/32-bit, plus DSD64 and DSD128. Ten preset equalisers and several digital filters shape the sound. The 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi handles AirPlay and OTA updates, for a stated twelve hours of listening and about an hour and a half of charging.
