Transrotor MAX Nero turntable, black chassis

Not just a colour

Transrotor says it plainly: colour alone would not have justified the Max Nero. What separates it from the light Max is the material — polyoxymethylene for the chassis, steel for the clamp, where the Max is aluminium throughout. Same architecture, different resonant behaviour.

POM and its demands

Polyoxymethylene is very hard and calls for fine mechanical machining. In return it absorbs resonance without flattening the dynamics of good pressings. Transrotor treats that as a double gain, and redrew the motor to match.

Arm base and location for a second arm

Up to twelve inches

Like the aluminium Max, the Nero takes two arms, up to twelve inches. The base adjusts continuously, with a second base possible on the left. The arm stays an open choice: the deck adapts to it.

The Max Nero arrives as a base deck: no arm, no cartridge. Every Transrotor is hand-assembled and configured case by case — arm, cartridge, clamp, power supply. Fitting and alignment are done in our Geneva workshop.
