Transrotor MAX turntable with its external motor

The motor off the chassis

The Max runs an external motor: apart from the belt, nothing connects it to the platter. Its vibration therefore cannot travel up through the chassis, the one path it takes on an integrated drive. Transrotor has built this way from the start, and the Max is the plainest expression of it.

Hand-polished aluminium

The chassis is solid aluminium, polished by hand. The platter pairs aluminium with acrylic, two materials whose natural resonances do not coincide, which stops them adding up. The supplied record clamp is aluminium too.

Continuously adjustable arm base

The arm base adjusts continuously, with no detents or fixed positions. Distance to the platter centre is therefore set by the arm you choose, not the other way round. A second base can be added if you want to run two arms.

The Transrotor entry point

Transrotor presents the Max as its entry point, and the name states the intent: maximum reduction, nothing left to take away. It ships without arm or cartridge, in its 9-inch version. Fitting and alignment are done in our Geneva workshop.
