The 99 Classics Walnut Silver pair walnut ear cups with silver cast zinc hardware. The walnut is air-dried, and shaping a single pair of cups, CNC-carved then hand-finished, takes up to eight hours. Since the grain varies from one piece of wood to the next, no two pairs are alike.
The vegan leather headband adjusts vertically on its own, carried by a spring steel band with a large contact area. Medium-density foam ear pads covered in vegan leather block out ambient noise. The whole headphone weighs just 260 g.
The 40 mm dynamic drivers cover 15 Hz to 25 kHz with less than 0.1% distortion at 1 kHz. With 32 Ω and 103 dB SPL/mW, the headphone is happy with a smartphone, a portable player or a small amplifier. Two Kevlar-sheathed OFC cables are included: 1.2 m with mic and remote, and 3 m for home use.
Ear cups, headband, cables and drivers: every part of the 99 Classics can be replaced. The detachable ear pads are easy to change when they wear. A hard EVA case, a cable pouch and 6.3 mm and airplane jack adapters complete the package.
