The GO bar is the size of a USB stick and weighs just 28.5 g. It plugs into a laptop, a MacBook, a tablet, a smartphone or any USB device to replace its audio output. It comes with a leather travel case, a Lightning to USB-C cable, a USB-C OTG cable and a USB-C to USB-A adapter.
The analogue circuit keeps the left and right channels fully separate, for less noise and crosstalk. The 4.4 mm balanced socket delivers 475 mW into 32 ohms and 7.2 V into 600 ohms, the 3.5 mm S-Balanced socket 300 mW into 32 ohms. Turbo mode adds 6 dB for power-hungry headphones and iEMatch silences hiss with sensitive IEMs.
The alloy case has physical buttons for volume and for choosing the sound settings. A column of LEDs shows the format and sample rate being played, and whether XBass+ and XSpace are engaged. Four digital filters are offered, from a filter-free bit-exact setting to Standard, Minimum Phase and Gibbs Transient Optimised.
Conversion is entrusted to a Cirrus Logic chip that plays bit-exact PCM up to 384 kHz, DSD256 and DXD 384 kHz, and fully decodes MQA. A custom OV op-amp designed by iFi keeps noise and distortion very low. From the balanced output, distortion stays below 0.002 % into 600 ohms at 2 V.
