Closed dynamic design

The HE-R9 is a closed-back over-ear headphone with a dynamic driver. Its sealed cups shut out outside noise and keep the music in the foreground. Their generous internal volume gives the driver the room it needs.

Topology diaphragm

Hifiman uses its Topology diaphragm here, coated with nanoparticles. It gains sensitivity and renders precise treble, with clean, punchy bass. Frequency response extends from 15 Hz to 35 kHz.

Easy to drive

With 32 ohms impedance and 100 dB sensitivity, the HE-R9 runs happily from a smartphone or a high-resolution player. It also shows its full potential on a home system with the supplied 6.3 mm adapter. The cable connects to both ear cups through 3.5 mm sockets.

Metallic red-brown cups

The cups carry a glossy metallic red-brown finish. The adjustable headband hides a stainless steel frame wrapped in leather. At 328 g, the headphones stay comfortable for long sessions, at home or on the move.
