The EF1000DAC delivers 13.7 W into 32 ohms balanced and 7 W per channel unbalanced. Each channel of its balanced output stage uses four matched transistors. A 150 W transformer wound with oxygen-free copper powers the whole unit.
Conversion relies on Hifiman's Hymalaya Pro ladder DAC, which removes the switches of conventional R-2R DACs. Paired with a high-precision discrete op-amp module, it holds THD+N to 0.0012%. The signal-to-noise ratio reaches 120 dB A-weighted and channel separation 131 dB.
The volume control is fully balanced. On the front, the unit offers a 4-pin XLR output and a 6.35 mm headphone jack. The Bluetooth receiver accepts the LDAC, aptX HD, aptX, AAC and SBC codecs.
On the back, the EF1000DAC takes USB-B, optical, coaxial and an analogue RCA input. RCA and balanced 3-pin XLR outputs connect it to an amplifier. A dedicated socket holds the supplied Bluetooth antenna.
