Vertical format and stand

The EF500 stands upright and also works as a headphone stand, freeing up desk space. A large front knob sets the volume. Four gain settings combine high or low gain, with or without oversampling.

Hifiman R2R converter

Conversion relies on Hifiman's R2R DAC architecture. At the line output, THD+N stays at 0.0025%, channel separation reaches 131 ±3 dB and the signal-to-noise ratio 117 dB A-weighted.

LAN network streaming

A LAN port connects the EF500 to the internet and the home network. It plays music stored on a NAS or sent from a smartphone or tablet. USB-C, USB-B and coaxial inputs remain available for a computer or a digital source.

Headphone and line outputs

The EF500 delivers 4.5 W per channel into 32 ohms balanced and 1.32 W unbalanced. The front offers a 4-pin XLR output and a 6.35 mm jack. On the back, RCA and 3-pin XLR outputs connect it to an amplifier.
