The FiiO JM21 is an entry-level Android digital audio player (DAP) with an ultra-slim 13-mm body weighing just 156 g. It’s powered by a 6-nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC (octa-core up to 2.4 GHz) running Android 13, with a 4.7-inch HD display. Available in 3 GB + 32 GB or 4 GB + 64 GB configurations, it is optimized for music streaming apps.
The audio stage combines two flagship Cirrus Logic CS43198 DACs and two SGM8262 operational amplifiers in a fully symmetrical design. A three-stage segmented power supply separately powers the DAC, voltage, and current sections, and shielded compartments isolate the modules. The JM21 delivers up to 700 mW + 700 mW into 32 ohms in balanced mode, with a signal-to-noise ratio exceeding 130 dB.
The 5th-generation DAPS system combines an FPGA and two custom femtosecond quartz oscillators for a stable, low-jitter clock. The JM21 preserves the original sampling rate without global SRC, regardless of the application. Three gain levels with dedicated volume curves, along with 3.5 mm, 4.4 mm balanced, SPDIF coaxial, and USB Audio outputs, round out the package.
Depending on the version, battery life reaches approximately 12.5 to 16 hours in single-ended mode. The JM21 supports 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi (DLNA, AirPlay, wireless transfer) and bidirectional Bluetooth 5.0 with LDAC. A transparent case is included, and the body combines aluminum and plastic. The JM21 is available in black and sky blue.
