12 mm DLC Dynamic Driver

The FiiO FD3 is a wired in-ear headphone featuring a single 12 mm dynamic driver. Its diamond-like carbon (DLC) diaphragm, which is both rigid and lightweight, reduces distortion and ensures excellent transients. A 1.5-Tesla magnet and a Daikoku copper-plated aluminum voice coil deliver powerful sound and high sensitivity.

Acoustic Prism and Semi-Open Design

Inherited from the flagship FD5 model, the front acoustic prism eliminates standing waves in the high frequencies, improves sound wave diffusion, and corrects delays caused by internal paths. The semi-open design balances internal air pressure for a more natural sound, a less fatiguing listening experience, and reduced pressure on the eardrum.

Aluminum-magnesium body and interchangeable tubes

The FD3’s body is crafted from an aluminum-magnesium alloy using 5-axis CNC machining and hand polishing, topped with a celluloid front panel covered in 2.5D glass for a transparent, crisp finish. Two interchangeable acoustic tubes allow you to adjust the sound signature: the black tube, with a large internal diameter, emphasizes detailed highs; the red tube, with a narrower diameter, boosts the bass.

MMCX Cable and Hi-Res Certification

The FD3 comes with a detachable cable featuring extended MMCX connectors, consisting of four strands comprising 120 high-purity monocrystalline copper wires, terminated by a gold-plated angled 3.5 mm jack, approximately 1.2 m long. Hi-Res Audio certified, it covers a frequency response of 10 Hz to 40 kHz, weighing only 7 g per earbud.
