The FiiO FD3 is a wired in-ear monitor with a single 12 mm dynamic driver. Its diamond-like carbon (DLC) diaphragm, both rigid and light, reduces distortion and delivers excellent transients. A 1.5 tesla magnet and a Daikoku copper-clad aluminium voice coil deliver powerful sound and high sensitivity.
Inherited from the flagship FD5, the front acoustic prism eliminates standing waves in the high frequencies, improves the dispersion of sound waves and corrects delays caused by internal paths. The semi-open design balances the internal air pressure for a more natural sound, less tiring listening and reduced pressure on the eardrum.
The FD3 body is made of aluminium-magnesium alloy by 5-axis CNC machining and hand polishing, topped by a celluloid faceplate covered with 2.5D glass for a clear, fresh look. Two interchangeable acoustic tubes let you adjust the sound signature: the black tube, with a wide inner diameter, favours detailed treble; the red tube, with a narrower diameter, strengthens the bass.
The FD3 has a detachable cable with extended MMCX connectors, made of four strands totalling 120 wires of high-purity monocrystalline copper, ending in an angled audio plug. Hi-Res Audio certified, it reproduces the fine details of the music.
