The FiiO FA19 is a wired in-ear headphone featuring 10 Knowles balanced armature drivers, a Monitor/HiFi switch, a 3D-printed shell, and a pure silver cable, and is Hi-Res Audio certified.
The FiiO FA19 is a high-end wired in-ear headphone built entirely around balanced armatures: ten Knowles drivers per ear, the fruit of three years of collaboration with Knowles. The configuration combines four custom reinforced-bass armatures, two ED midrange armatures and four SWFK treble armatures, for an energy density and level of detail worthy of a reference monitor.
To deliver deep bass, which is rare in an all-armature earphone, FiiO designed reinforced bass armatures with Knowles, four per channel. The DLP 3D-printed shell guides low-frequency energy to the rear cavity and lowers its resonance frequency, forming a feedback-controlled bass amplification system. This venting also improves comfort and the width of the soundstage.
A midrange notch filter, placed beneath the two ED midrange armatures, lifts the level between 1 and 3 kHz, removes the 8 kHz peak and sets the crossover point at 3.5 kHz for a clean separation between midrange and treble. The electronic crossover relies on audiophile-grade Rubycon film capacitors (0.1% tolerance), and the patented S.Turbo design smooths the bass-to-midrange transition.
A Monitor / HiFi switch on the back of the earphones toggles between a neutral, detailed sound, ideal for audio production, and a HiFi sound that reinforces the midrange and bass. The shell is made by DLP 3D printing in photosensitive resin with a precision of 0.0375 mm. The monocrystalline pure silver cable (8 strands, 224 wires, Litz braid) ends in extended MMCX connectors and interchangeable 3.5 / 4.4 mm plugs. Hi-Res Audio certified.
