The Shangri-La pairs an electrostatic headphone with its own dedicated tube amplifier. Its drivers use an extremely thin Nanotech diaphragm. Stated response runs from 7 Hz to 120 kHz, with an operating voltage of 550 to 650 V.
The amplifier runs on four large 300B tubes and four small 6SN7N tubes, protected by a cage. It weighs 16 kg and measures 437.8 x 458.9 x 335.8 mm. Both tube types are selected in the best quality available.
The Shangri-La headphone weighs 374 g. It connects to the system's amplifier, developed for it by the brand's engineers. Between sessions, it rests on the supplied headphone stand.
The system ships in a sturdy wheeled transport case. It holds the headphone, the amplifier, the eight 300B and 6SN7N tubes, the tube cage and a headphone stand. A high-end interconnect and power cable complete the set, along with the documentation.
