Suspended triCom subchassis

The TD 903 sits on a triCom subchassis, an aluminium-POM composite chosen for its stiffness and its damping. That subchassis hangs on three conical springs whose tension is adjusted from above, which makes levelling straightforward. The AC synchronous motor is mounted directly on the damped subchassis and drives the sub-platter through a ground precision belt. Two of the three feet are also levelled from above.

Quartz glass platter

The 300-millimetre platter is made of quartz glass and weighs 2.7 kilos. It sits on an aluminium sub-platter, itself carried by a sintered bronze bearing with a Teflon mirror. The steel axle running inside it generates very low but constant friction, which gives the motor a steady base load.

TP 92 precision tonearm

The nine-inch TP 92 arm tube is made of cold-compacted special aluminium; its own resonances were measured with a laser vibrometer and then damped where it counts. The headshell, also aluminium, is coupled to the tube over a large area and keeps the cartridge's centre of gravity under the arm axis. Overhang, azimuth and VTA height are all adjustable, and anti-skating is applied without contact by two ferrite magnets. RCA and XLR outputs

The rear panel carries an RCA output, a balanced XLR output and a ground terminal. Power arrives as 24 volts DC through a dedicated socket, and the two speeds of 33 and 45 rpm are switched electronically. The turntable ships without a cartridge and can be brought up to TD 905 level.
