Product Details

Low-output moving coil

The TAS 1500 is a low-output moving coil cartridge, at 0.4 mV under 5.5 cm/s. Its internal impedance of 12 ohms calls for a load above 100 ohms. That output level needs an MC phono stage, not an MM input.

Solid boron cantilever

The cantilever is solid boron, a stiff and light material that passes on the stylus movement without deforming it. The Microlinear diamond follows the groove close to the shape of the cutting stylus. Together they bring out detail without hardening the top end.

Matched to the TD 1500 and TD 403 DD

The TAS 1500 was developed to form a set with the TD 1500 and TD 403 DD turntables and the TP 150 arm. That match between arm and cartridge puts resonances outside the working band. The result is a dynamic, musical balance.

Made in Japan

The cartridge is made in Japan and weighs 8.2 grams. Its careful build serves detailed reproduction, precise dynamics and a legible soundstage. The finest nuances stay audible.
