The JT7 uses a 95 x 86 mm planar driver developed by FiiO, with a three-micron diaphragm. F.E.S. texturing structures the vibrating surface in several dimensions. High-density neodymium iron boron magnets sit on either side of the diaphragm.
Impedance measures 18 ohms for a sensitivity of 92 dB per milliwatt. A headphone of that impedance is content with a modest source: a dongle such as the KA15 or the QX13 will do, without calling for a desktop amplifier. FiiO also names its M21 and DM15 R2R players.
The JT7 weighs 318 grams. The ergonomic headband articulates the cups on four axes, and both the earpads and the headband cushion detach. The high-strength fibreglass hinges have been tested over more than ten thousand folding and twisting cycles.
The headphones come with a 3.5 mm single-ended cable and a 4.4 mm balanced cable, both with dual 3.5 mm connectors at the cup end. A 6.3 mm adapter completes the set. The JT7 is Hi-Res Audio certified.
