A system in two boxes

This bundle brings together the DMP-A8 Gen 2 network player and the AMP-F8 power amplifier, the two halves of a complete system: only the speakers are missing. The source handles networking, conversion and volume; the amplifier only amplifies. Both units share the same 38.8 × 26.5 cm footprint and stack without overhang.

The network player carries the AKM AK4499EXEQ converter alongside the AK4191EXEQ processor, with support for PCM at 768 kHz and 32 bit as well as DSD512. Its volume control stays analogue, on an R-2R ladder, which lets it drive the AMP-F8 directly without a separate preamplifier. Wi-Fi 6, Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth 5.4, an HDMI eARC input and an 8.6-inch touchscreen complete the picture.

AMP-F8 power

The AMP-F8 delivers 180 W RMS per channel into 8 ohms and 280 W into 4 ohms, in class AB. Its linear 800 W toroidal supply feeds both channels independently. The damping factor exceeds 400, enough to hold demanding bass drivers. Two analogue VU meters follow the level in real time.

What the bundle holds

The bundle contains both complete units, each in its original carton with its remote and mains cable. They connect over balanced XLR or RCA, as you prefer, and the 12 V trigger synchronises power-up. Delivered as two parcels, 26.3 kg in total.
