The BluTune 300L stereo speakers work in an acoustically tuned wooden cabinet. Two bass-reflex ports extend the low end beyond what a closed box of this size delivers. The unit measures 36 cm wide, 13.8 cm high and 26.5 cm deep and weighs 4.29 kg: a shelf or sideboard is enough to hold it.
Reception covers DAB, DAB+ and FM with RDS. Twenty presets keep the stations you listen to every day one button away. Six equaliser profiles adapt the tone to the programme, from a news bulletin to a broadcast concert.
The CD player reads audio discs and burned MP3 or WMA files. The USB port reads the same formats from a stick. A CD collection and digital folders therefore go through a single unit, with no turntable or computer beside it.
The Bluetooth receiver supports the AAC and SBC codecs, for music from a phone or tablet. An auxiliary input takes a wired source, and the headphone output is for solo listening. The two alarms and the sleep timer also make it a bedroom clock radio.
