The MZ3SE driver, developed in collaboration with Rinaro Isodynamics, combines two complementary voice coils: a “switchback” voice coil dedicated to low frequencies and a spiral voice coil positioned facing the ear canal for midrange and high frequencies. The Rinaro Parus diaphragm, made from a biaxially stretched polymer film, weighs only 0.11 g and has an active surface area of 4,650 mm². The result: total harmonic distortion of less than 0.05% across a frequency range of 3 Hz to 112 kHz, a sensitivity of 101 dB SPL/mW, and an impedance of 32 ohms, allowing the headphones to be used with most audio sources.
Each ear cup is CNC-machined from a solid block of aluminum, a process that takes approximately 20 hours per piece. The tungsten finish is achieved through a Cerakote coating—a treatment used in the aerospace and automotive industries for its durability and UV resistance—applied here without adding weight to the headphones. The front grille, also CNC-machined, completes this robust construction, and the carbon fiber and leather headband ensures even weight distribution across the head.
The fin-based suspension system, positioned on either side of the headband, distributes the helmet’s weight over a larger surface area for extended listening comfort. Two sets of ear pads are included: an “Angled Alcantara” model that opens up the interior space for a more airy sound, and a “Hybrid” model that combines perforated Alcantara and genuine leather. Both attach via a magnetic fastening system that redirects part of the driver’s magnetic field, thereby improving performance.
The headphones connect via a dual 4-pin mini-XLR connector and a silver-plated PCUHD cable terminated with a 6.35 mm jack, included as standard. They come in a rigid ABS case with protective foam padding and a leather handle, along with both sets of Angled Alcantara and Hybrid ear pads. The entire chassis can be disassembled for maintenance and replacement of wear parts.
