The FiiO BTR17 is a portable Bluetooth DAC and headphone amplifier that packs high-end features into a compact design: a multi-stage audio architecture and precision power supply comparable to those found in portable music players and home DAC/amps. It aims to redefine the standard for Bluetooth headphone amplifiers.
The BTR17 features the flagship Qualcomm QCC5181 chip, which supports Bluetooth LE Audio and delivers lossless quality via the aptX Adaptive system. With Bluetooth 5.4, it supports LDAC and aptX Adaptive at 96 kHz/24-bit, as well as Snapdragon Sound technology, for wireless listening close to CD quality.
Two flagship ES9069Q DACs with 4th-generation HyperStream architecture achieve a dynamic range of 130 dB and harmonic distortion of -120 dB. The amplification stage routes the signal through a fully balanced, four-channel THX AAA 78+ stage (eight operational amplifiers in parallel), delivering up to 650 mW + 650 mW into 32 ohms in desktop mode—a 203% increase over the BTR7.
A D.Mode selector and a dedicated power port allow the BTR17 to be powered by an external source without draining the phone’s battery. A PC/BT/PHONE selector adapts the power supply to the connected device. The XMOS XU316 USB decoder supports up to 768 kHz/32-bit, native DSD512, and full MQA. A 1.3-inch IPS color display, a pressable volume wheel, and a leather-wrapped aluminum chassis round out the package. Available in black and blue.
