The Elite houses a 3-inch full-range driver on top of the cabinet, its Wizard cone pointing at the ceiling. Sound therefore spreads through 360° rather than only forwards, as on a conventional clock radio. A bass reflex port at the back supports the low end. Sonoro targets small and medium rooms: bedroom, study, guest room.
The player reads CD, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3-CD and WMA, and resumes where playback stopped, which is handy for an audiobook. The tuner covers FM, DAB+ and more than 25,000 internet radio stations. Spotify, Amazon Music and Deezer are directly accessible, while Bluetooth and a 3.5 mm AUX input handle the rest.
Two independent alarms wake two people at different times, to FM, DAB+, internet radio or a tone. The sleep timer cuts the sound after 15, 30, 45, 60 or 90 minutes. The light sensor of the LCD adapts its brightness to the room so it does not disturb you at night. The 5 V/2.1 A USB port charges the phone while you sleep.
At 210 × 140 × 257 mm and 3.6 kg, the unit fits on a bedside table or a corner of a desk. The wood is sanded by hand, the corners rounded, then lacquered or dressed in walnut depending on the version, out of six finishes. An infrared remote, the OKTIV app and jazz, rock, classical or pop equaliser presets round off the package.
