The built-in drive accepts Red Book audio CDs, CDs and CD-Rs. It reads the disc faster than playback and buffers the data in memory before playing it. It also makes bit-for-bit copies of discs, in WAV or FLAC, onto local storage connected over USB.
A 5-inch colour LCD display fills the front panel, next to four buttons. The volume dial on top includes a proximity sensor. The bi-directional Zigbee remote and the Focal & Naim app for iOS and Android round out the controls.
An RCA pair and a 5-pin DIN input take analogue sources; two optical TOSLINK inputs at 24-bit/96 kHz, one coaxial RCA and one BNC at 24-bit/192 kHz handle digital sources. Speaker terminals, a pair of RCA outputs and a 3.5 mm headphone socket provide the outputs. Networking runs over 10/100 Ethernet or 802.11ac Wi-Fi, with the antenna housed in the heatsink.
The Class AB amplifier delivers 70 W per channel into 8 Ω. AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Qobuz, Roon Ready, UPnP, internet radio and Bluetooth are built in, with WAV playback up to 32-bit/384 kHz and DSD at 64 and 128 Fs. Party Mode syncs up to six Naim streamers.
