The 165 mm Micro Ceramic Composite woofer reaches 43 Hz (±6 dB) within a bookshelf enclosure — a figure most models of this size only achieve by oversizing the port at the expense of punch. The molded aluminum basket with a patented geometry reduces moving mass and improves coil ventilation, resulting in precise transient response on percussion and bass lines. The recommended amplifier power reaches 200 W, indicating a generous headroom before clipping.
The 25 mm Deep Ceramic Composite tweeter, shared across the entire Radia range, is mounted within the Acoustic Lens waveguide designed specifically to control directivity up to 40 kHz. This waveguide continuity between the R15 and R25 ensures that a mixed installation using both models (bookshelf as satellite and main units) maintains the same high-frequency dispersion signature. Sensitivity is 85.5 dB at 2.83 V/1 m, slightly higher than the R15.
The high-pass and low-pass filter is tuned at 1.7 kHz using carefully selected components — low-loss capacitors and air-core inductors on critical paths. This crossover frequency choice leaves the MCC 165 mm woofer responsible for the lower mids where it excels, without asking it to reproduce frequencies where its mass might color the timbre. The cabinet is internally braced to minimize parasitic resonances on loud passages.
The R25 is supplied as a matched pair in its natural black walnut veneer — a finish rarely offered by bookshelf speakers at this price point. The grille attaches magnetically with no visible fasteners. Solid aluminum stands are available as a separate option for a stand-mount presentation. Paired with the ARCAM SA45 or A25+, the R25 benefits from integrated Anechoic EQ (AEQ) for fine calibration per model as soon as powered on.
