The Class AB amplifier delivers 80 W per channel into 8 Ω. Naim pairs it with discrete components, a large toroidal transformer and enhanced isolation. Digital-to-analogue conversion is handled by a Burr-Brown DAC.
The front panel brings together a 5-inch colour LCD display, four buttons and a volume dial fitted with a proximity sensor. The bi-directional Zigbee remote needs no line of sight, and the Focal & Naim app controls the unit from iOS or Android. Updates arrive wirelessly through the same app.
Two 5-pin DIN inputs and two RCA pairs take analogue sources. Two optical TOSLINK inputs accept 24-bit/96 kHz, the coaxial RCA and BNC inputs 24-bit/192 kHz with DoP 64 Fs. Outputs comprise the speaker terminals, a 4-pin DIN socket, an RCA pair and a 3.5 mm headphone socket. A DAB/FM module is available as an option.
AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Qobuz, Roon Ready, UPnP, internet radio and Bluetooth are built in. WAV files play up to 32-bit/384 kHz and DSD at 64 and 128 Fs. Party Mode syncs up to six Naim streamers, and a 1 TB portable SSD or a 128 GB USB stick stores up to 20,000 tracks.
