Conversion rests on two AKM AK4493S, one per channel, with an XMOS XUF208 USB stage ahead of them. Volume runs through two NJU72315 driven by a sampled potentiometer. Two gain levels cover impedances from 16 to 300 ohms.
Two THX AAA 788+ modules carry the output stage. The 4.4 mm balanced socket delivers 2000 milliwatts per channel into 32 ohms and 560 milliwatts into 300 ohms. The 6.35 mm single-ended socket stays at 1220 and 140 milliwatts into the same loads.
Signal-to-noise reaches 128 dB on the analogue input and 120 dB over USB, for distortion of 0.0003 % into 32 ohms. Crosstalk exceeds 124 dB balanced. The RCA line output delivers at least 2 volts RMS.
The USB-B input rises to 384 kHz at 32-bit and DSD256; the coaxial input caps at 192 kHz/24-bit and the optical at 96 kHz. An RCA line input completes the set. An indicator changes colour with the incoming sampling rate, and the unit weighs 610 grams.
