The FiiO K17 is a high-end desktop DAC and headphone amplifier, the successor to the K9 Pro. It features the flagship AKM AK4191 paired with two AK4499EX chips (one per channel) in a fully differential architecture, from the DAC to the amplifier. Eight operating modes (USB, coaxial, optical, line-in, balanced, Bluetooth, streaming, local playback) cover all the uses of a desktop system.
The headphone stage employs a discrete Class AB amplifier using ON Semiconductor MJE243G/253G current-mode transistors, capable of delivering high current at low output impedance. Power output reaches 4,000 mW + 4,000 mW at 32 ohms in balanced mode—nearly double that of the K9 Pro—across five gain levels. Multiple OPA1612 operational amplifiers ensure dynamic output and low noise.
A 64-bit floating-point M21586Q DSP, an ES9821Q analog-to-digital converter, and a dedicated clock enable a lossless 31-band parametric equalizer with compression and dynamic range limiting. Three ACCUSILICON femtosecond quartz oscillators with extremely low phase noise faithfully reproduce signals. The K17 supports full MQA decoding and a signal-to-noise ratio of up to 125 dB.
The K17 features a Gigabit Ethernet port and dual-band 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi (AirPlay, streaming), USB decoding up to 768 kHz/32-bit and DSD512, as well as a comprehensive range of connections: 6.35 mm, 4.4 mm, and XLR4 headphone jacks; XLR3 and RCA line inputs; and optical, coaxial, and balanced inputs. A 3.93-inch touchscreen, five control dials, and an infrared remote control make operation easy. Available in black and silver.
