Twenty outputs are enough for a 9.4.6, 11.4.4 or 9.6.4 layout, with six height speakers or six subwoofers. The AltitudeCI 20 handles bridged LCR speakers and multi-subwoofer WaveForming, with one or two Amplitude16 amplifiers downstream. It also opens the 20 to 32-channel tier, aimed at systems with a large number of speakers.
Dolby Atmos, DTS:X Pro, Auro-3D and IMAX Enhanced are decoded in full, then each channel is assigned to an actual speaker in the room. Remapping, included alongside Optimizer and WaveForming, runs at full resolution across all twenty channels. For a stereo or 5.1 source, Dolby Surround, DTS Neural:X and Auro-Matic feed every speaker in the system.
Three Gigabit ports, one RJ45 and two SFP cages, handle the Dante stream. They work as a built-in switch, as isolated networks or as redundant paths, and an RJ45 SFP module is supplied. AES67 compatibility also connects the processor to Dolby media servers.
Processing is done in software, in 64-bit floating point. There is no systematic downsampling to 48 kHz: the processor works natively up to 192 kHz, depending on the number of channels. Over Dante, the sample rate depends on the network, often 48 kHz.
