50 mm Driver

The IO-8 uses a 50 mm full-range driver, quoted from 10 Hz to 43 kHz. The design is closed-back over-ear, with the ear enclosed by the cushion rather than pressed. The headphones weigh 325 g, 45 g less than the IO-12.

Noise Cancelling

Active noise cancelling switches off or adjusts from the earcup, with a transparency mode to hear a platform announcement without taking the headphones off. Quoted battery life is 35 hours with cancelling on.
