50 mm Driver

The IO-12 carries the SMC magnet system developed for the brand's loudspeakers, applied here to a 50 mm driver. Quoted bandwidth runs from 10 Hz to 48 kHz. The design is closed-back over-ear: the ear is enclosed, not pressed on.

Thirty-Five Hours

Battery life reaches 35 hours with active noise cancelling on. Charging is over USB-C, which doubles as a digital audio input. The headphones also take a 3.5 mm mini-jack and work passively on that input, with no battery.

Bluetooth 5.2 carries AAC, aptX, aptX HD and aptX Adaptive. Over USB the headphones accept 16 to 24 bit up to 96 kHz. Passive impedance is 25 ohms, so a portable player's headphone output is enough.
