The Amplitude16 combines two independent 8-channel amplifiers in a single chassis, each with its own power supply. Its Class D stages were designed with ICEpower to Trinnov's specifications. Each channel delivers 200 W into 8 Ω and 400 W into 4 Ω, for 3200 W in total with all channels driven on 230 V mains.
Channels bridge in pairs. A bridged pair rises to 800 W into 8 Ω and 1000 W into 4 Ω, and gain goes from 16 to 22 dB. On the front panel, LEDs show normal operation, clipping, protection and bridge status for each pair.
From 20 Hz to 20 kHz, frequency response stays within +0/-0.6 dB whatever the speaker impedance. Total harmonic distortion plus noise falls to 0.0015% into 8 Ω, and the signal-to-noise ratio reaches 126 dB A-weighted. With a damping factor of 2340 at 100 Hz and 96 dB of crosstalk, each channel keeps firm control of its driver without spilling over into the next one.
Its input sensitivity, 6.16 V or +18 dBu, matches the output level of the Trinnov Altitude16, Altitude32 and AltitudeCI processors. The signal comes in through two female DB25 connectors with Tascam analogue pinout, and each channel goes out on a 5-way binding post. A 12 V trigger input and output syncs power-on with the rest of the system. Including rack ears, the unit measures 482 x 132 x 452 mm and weighs 20.5 kg.
