The ALM system in the MCA 325 Gen 2 continuously monitors internal temperature, current and voltage. It steps in only in extreme conditions, to protect the amplifier and the speakers, with no internal fuse in the signal path. If a fault appears, the unaffected channels keep playing and full operation resumes by itself once conditions return to normal. A front-panel LED confirms the status.
The MCA 325 Gen 2 draws its power from a custom low-flux, low-noise toroidal transformer. This design limits stray magnetic radiation and leaves a very calm noise floor, with a signal-to-noise ratio of 120 dB (IEC-A, ref. 225 W). The aluminium heatsinks are oversized. Each of the three channels has 8 bipolar output transistors.
The rear panel offers single-ended and balanced inputs, with an input impedance of 10 kΩ on RCA and 15 kΩ on XLR. The relay trigger uses a 3.5 mm mono jack. The new larger, more conductive speaker binding posts hold the cables firmly. Switch-on is manual, by trigger or by signal sensing, and standby consumption is 1.4 W.
The MCA 325 Gen 2 pairs with the AVM 70 and AVM 90 A/V processors, whose styling it shares. They handle configurations of up to 15.4 channels with ARC Genesis room correction, and each MCA adds the channels needed. The amplifier delivers 225 W per channel into 8 Ω, 400 W into 4 Ω and 600 W into 2 Ω. It measures 43.18 × 46 × 16.9 cm (W × D × H with feet) and weighs 19.5 kg.
