Two coils for mono

The SL Mono is built with two coils. Wired like a stereo cartridge, it feeds both channels of the phono stage; with a left/right selector or a single speaker, two pins are enough. You avoid the crosstalk, noise and phase errors that a stereo cartridge adds to a mono record.

Shibata stylus, 0.4 mV

The nude Shibata diamond, cut to 0.27 x 1.57 mil, sits on an aluminium cantilever. It reads from 15 Hz to 32 kHz and tracks 70 micrometres at 2 grams. Output is 0.4 mV at 23 ohms, to be loaded from 200 ohms, and the cartridge weighs 5 grams.
