The LCD-XC features 106 mm planar-magnetic drivers with Fazor waveguides and ultra-thin Uniforce diaphragms. THD stays under 0.1% at 100 dB SPL and the maximum sound pressure level exceeds 130 dB. Frequency response spans 10 Hz to 50 kHz.
The LCD-XC's closed design blocks outside noise and keeps sound played through the headphones from leaking into a nearby microphone, useful in a recording booth or a mixing suite. The earcups are made of carbon, a lightweight material that reduces vibration, and the shells are precision-machined anodized aluminum.
With an impedance of 20 ohms and a sensitivity of 100 dB/1 mW (Audeze's Drum Reference Point method), the LCD-XC can be driven from an audio interface or a mixing console. Audeze recommends a minimum of 100 mW, with 250 mW for a comfortable listening margin.
The LCD-XC ships with a 1.9 m braided OCC copper cable terminated in a 4-pin XLR connector, plus a 6.35 mm adapter. An LCD carrying case protects the headphones between sessions. At 677 g, the weight distribution across the headband and earpads lets you wear them for several hours at a stretch during listening or recording.
