The BC13 is the heart of the TC23 triaxial driver used in La Sphère and L'Océan, Cabasse's reference systems. Assembled and checked in the brand's French workshops, it places tweeter and midrange on one axis. An aluminium waveguide, designed for the Murano, blends it with the bass driver.
The 17 cm 17ND36 was designed for the Murano and scales down the know-how of the 55 cm driver of La Sphère. Its concave honeycomb cone stays stiff and well damped, allowing long excursion without deformation. A long voice coil sits in the 45 mm gap of a four-kilo motor. This takes the 38.5 cm cabinet down to 48 Hz.
The crossover cuts at 800 Hz and again at 3,500 Hz. Cabasse tunes it to its HDSE protocol, for homogeneous distribution of the sonic energy, which takes anechoic chamber measurements on axis and over 360°. Direct and reflected sound stay consistent, and the soundstage gains in width and stability.
At 38.5 x 24.8 x 30 cm and 14 kg, the speaker fits on a shelf or a stand. Cabasse offers matt black or white stands that hide the cables and hold up to 50 kg. The Murano is rated at 87 dB sensitivity, 8 ohms nominal and 3.4 ohms minimum, 150 W rated and 1,000 W peak.
