The black FiiO FH7s are wired Hi-Fi in-ear earphones with a hybrid configuration: a 13.6 mm DLC dynamic driver and four Knowles balanced armatures. The detachable MMCX cable accepts interchangeable 3.5 and 4.4 mm plugs.
The FH7s pair one dynamic driver with four Knowles balanced armatures per earphone. The midrange is handled by DFK armatures developed with Knowles, the treble by an SWFK-31736 armature, while the dynamic driver takes care of the bass. The second-generation semi-open design balances the pressure between the front and rear cavities for a wide soundstage and a natural timbre.
The 13.6 mm dynamic driver reuses the DLC (diamond-like carbon) diaphragm already found in the FH9. Rigid, damped and light, this diaphragm responds quickly to transients and produces tight bass. The frequency response covers 10 Hz to 40 kHz, with an impedance of 18 ohms and a sensitivity of 104 dB at 1 kHz.
The FH7s introduce the HS18 silicone ear tips, whose ear-contact surface is only 0.4 mm thick. Their wide opening, the same diameter as the acoustic tube, limits the loss of high frequencies. The patented S.TURBO acoustic duct guides the waves to reinforce the bass, and a notch filter attenuates unwanted resonances.
The detachable cable is made of eight strands totalling 152 wires of silver-plated monocrystalline copper, braided in Litz and connected through MMCX connectors. The twist-lock plugs switch from 3.5 mm single-ended to 4.4 mm balanced depending on the source. Three interchangeable acoustic filters (bass, balanced, treble) adjust the sound signature.
