The FH7s brings together one dynamic driver and four Knowles balanced armatures per earpiece. The armatures share out the midrange (two custom DFK units) and the treble (SWFK-31736), while the dynamic driver handles the bass. The second-generation semi-open design balances the pressure between the front and rear cavities for a wide soundstage and a natural timbre.

The 13.6 mm dynamic driver carries over the DLC (diamond-like carbon) diaphragm already used on the FH9. Rigid, damped and light, this diaphragm answers transients quickly and produces taut bass. Frequency response covers 10 Hz to 40 kHz, for an impedance of 18 ohms and a sensitivity of 104 dB at 1 kHz.

The FH7s introduces the HS18 silicone ear tips, whose surface in contact with the ear is only 0.4 mm thick. Their wide opening, matching the diameter of the acoustic tube, limits the loss of high frequencies. The patented S.TURBO acoustic duct guides the waves to reinforce the bass, and a notch filter tames unwanted resonances.

The detachable cable is made of eight strands totalling 152 silver-plated monocrystalline copper wires, braided in Litz and joined by MMCX connectors. The twist-lock plugs move from 3.5 mm single-ended to 4.4 mm balanced according to the source. Three interchangeable acoustic filters (bass, balanced, treble) adjust the sound signature.
