High-end components often ship with a generic, noisy switch-mode adapter. Even many audiophile linear supplies still carry marked noise at the rectification frequencies of 50, 100 or 150 Hz. The iPower Elite gives a streamer, DAC or amplifier power as clean as a battery, without the hassle.
Active Noise Cancellation II generates a signal in opposite phase to incoming EMI and RFI interference to cancel it. The noise floor drops below 1 µV. According to iFi, the iPower Elite is twenty times quieter than a conventional switch-mode or linear supply, and more than a hundred times quieter than an ordinary wall adapter.
The aircraft-grade aluminium enclosure includes its own finned heatsink. It measures 148 x 55 x 50 mm and weighs 550 g. The supply connects to the mains with a C13 to Schuko cable, supplied together with a Schuko to Swiss T12 adapter.
The iPower Elite comes in 5 V (5 A), 12 V (4 A), 15 V (3.5 A) and 24 V (2.5 A) versions, with a mains input of 100 to 240 V. Five DC plugs are included, among them a 5.5 x 2.5 mm reverse-polarity plug. The 5 V version adds two short DC to USB-C and DC to micro-USB cables.
