The iPower X uses iFi's Active Noise Cancellation II to neutralise EMI and RFI interference coming from the mains. It produces a signal in opposite phase to the incoming noise, just like noise-cancelling headphones. Its noise floor sits at around 1 µV.
To better suppress high-frequency noise, iFi has built solid organic semiconductors into the output filter. Generous input and output capacitance ensures effective filtering and good dynamics. The iPower X suits DACs, routers, amplifiers and other DC-powered devices.
The iPower X is available in 5 V (3 A), 9 V (2.5 A), 12 V (2 A) and 15 V (1.5 A) versions, with a mains input of 100 to 240 V. The compact unit measures 95 x 50 x 43 mm and weighs 135 g.
Five DC plugs come with the iPower X, from 3.5 x 1.35 mm to 5.5 x 2.5 mm, the latter with reversed polarity for centre-negative devices. The 5 V version adds two short DC to USB-C and DC to micro-USB cables. iFi recommends pairing it with the DC iPurifier2 to go further.
