The Meze Audio POET is a compact open-back headphone with a planar magnetic driver. It delivers lush, airy vocals, punchy and well-controlled bass for a balanced low end, and a natural tonality lifted by a hint of sparkle. Fine detail retrieval and instrument separation bring every recording to life.
The MZ6 Isodynamic Hybrid Array driver, created by Rinaro exclusively for Meze Audio, combines the MZ4 and MZ3SE drivers of the LIRIC and ELITE models. Its 0.06 g Parus diaphragm covers an active area of 3507 mm², and two coils share the work: a switchback coil for the bass and a spiral coil, placed over the ear canal, for the mids and highs. Harmonic distortion stays below 0.05% and reproduction extends up to 96 kHz.
The magnesium chassis and the patterned steel grille, designed to serve the acoustic tuning, give the headphone rigidity and durability. The titanium alloy headband and suede leather headrest spread the 405 g evenly for a snug, enveloping fit. The magnetic ear pads, taken from the second-generation LIRIC, are easy to swap, and the headphone can be fully disassembled for part-by-part servicing.
The POET comes with a 2.5 m hand-braided Furukawa PCUHD copper cable, terminated with a 6.3 mm jack for wide compatibility with desktop setups. On the headphone side, each ear cup takes a 3.5 mm TS jack. A PU leather cable pouch and a high-strength ABS case with foam inserts complete the package.
