Open-back over-ear headphones with planar magnetic drivers and wooden earcups, available in two finishes.

The LCD-2 is the rock and roll member of Audeze's LCD line: it puts emotion ahead of analytical rigour. You stay comfortable on recordings that are technically uneven, where a more clinical headphone underlines every flaw in the take. Distortion stays below 0.1 % at 100 dB and the soundstage keeps the depth of a live room.
Behind the grille sits a 106-millimetre planar magnetic driver: an array of N50 neodymium magnets and an ultra-thin diaphragm whose surface carries the conductive traces. That large radiating area is what gives the LCD-2 its sense of space. Fazor technology guides the wave inside the earcup and corrects phase response.
The headphone weighs 595 grams, and the ventilated suspension headband spreads that mass instead of concentrating it on the top of the head. The thick earpads hold without clamping, which matters across a full album. The leather-free Padauk finish uses the same construction in vegan materials.
The wooden rings are finished one at a time: they give the headphone its look and damp resonances inside the earcup. You receive the LCD-2 with a 1.9-metre braided cable terminated in 4-pin XLR and mini-XLR, an adapter to 6.35 mm, a second to 3.5 mm, a travel case and its certificate of authenticity.
