Fluxor planar-magnetic transducers

The LCD-GX uses Audeze's planar-magnetic technology with 106 mm transducers paired with Fluxor magnets and an ultra-thin Uniforce diaphragm. Frequency response spans 10 Hz to 50 kHz at 20 ohms impedance and 100 dB sensitivity, so it can be driven from a hi-fi amplifier or a portable player. Total harmonic distortion stays below 0.1% at 100 dB.

Two cables for two uses

The LCD-GX ships with two cables: a 1.9 m hi-fi cable with a 6.35 mm connector for amplifier listening, and a 2.4 m cable with a 3.5 mm connector that adds a boom microphone and an inline mute switch for gaming. A 3.5 mm TRRS to 2 x 3.5 mm TRS splitter and a CTIA/OMTP adapter complete the package, letting the headphone connect to PC, Mac, PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo Switch without an extra adapter.

Magnesium shell and leather headband

The lightweight magnesium shell and the suspended steel-and-leather adjustable headband are designed to reduce the weight of wearing the LCD-GX. The memory-foam earpads follow the shape of the ear and close off the open-back earcup without fully isolating it from ambient sound, a fitting choice for long sessions in front of a screen.

Three-quarter view, boom microphone extended

Flexible, discreet boom microphone

The directional boom microphone on the gaming cable filters out some ambient noise and folds to sit close to the mouth, with an inline mute button to cut the mic without letting go of the controller or keyboard. Running entirely in analogue, with no digital signal processing, the LCD-GX keeps the same sound signature for music and gaming, with no extra conversion stage.
