The FiiO KA17 is a portable USB headphone amplifier and DAC with two ESS ES9069Q converters, one per channel. This fourth-generation HyperStream architecture offers higher performance, lower power consumption and minimal digital noise for a very quiet background.
Four THX AAA 78+ amplifiers, that is eight op-amps working in parallel in a four-way balanced configuration, deliver remarkable power and finesse. In desktop mode, the output reaches 650 mW + 650 mW balanced and 270 mW + 270 mW unbalanced.
Driven by the 16-core XMOS XU316 controller, the KA17 offers a precision parametric equaliser with ten bands adjustable in frequency, gain and width, from the app or the FiiO website. The dual crystal clock ensures stable transmission and broad compatibility.
A D.Mode switch activates desktop mode, which tunes the DAC, power supply and amplifier stage to release their full power. A second USB Type-C port dedicated to external power avoids drawing on your device's battery. A 0.91-inch dot-matrix display, an SPDIF output through the 3.5 mm jack and multiple protections complete the package.
