DAB+ and FM-RDS tuner

The DDR-7 picks up DAB+ and FM with RDS, and keeps the stations you call up most often in its presets. When reception drops off — a basement kitchen, a load-bearing wall in the wrong place — the supplied wire antenna plugs into the 3.5 mm jack at the back. The OLED display shows the RDS data the station broadcasts, not just a frequency.

Acoustically tuned wooden cabinet

The cabinet is wood, tuned around a single 1.5-inch driver into 4 ohms. The Class D amplifier puts out 2 W on mains power: room volume rather than living-room volume, with the cabinet doing the rest of the work the way old tabletop sets did. 116 mm wide and 400 g — it sits on a bedside table without taking it over.

Bluetooth and AUX input

Bluetooth 5.0 takes music from a phone or a tablet, decoding SBC. For anything without Bluetooth — a CD player, a turntable with a built-in phono stage — the 3.5 mm AUX input steps in. Switching between sources is done with the MODE button on the front.

Battery and OLED display

A 2600 mAh 18650 lithium battery is built in: the set moves from the kitchen to the terrace without hunting for a socket. Charging runs at 5 V over the micro-USB port, with the supplied cable. The OLED display shows the station and how much charge is left.
