ESSENTIALS RADIO1 receives DAB+ on Band III and FM with RDS. Its three-line OLED display shows the station and its information. Six buttons on the front recall favourite stations, next to the round speaker.
Below the six preset buttons, a second row groups autotune, equaliser, display, source, alarm and power. The left knob handles tuning and selection, the right one sets the volume.
On the rear, a headphone output, a line output and an auxiliary input on 3.5 mm jacks sit beside the telescopic aerial. The built-in clock doubles as an alarm, and the sleep timer cuts the sound after the chosen delay. The power supply is included, and the radio measures 20.5 x 13.6 x 9.4 cm and weighs 1.5 kg.
A wide metal Snooze button is set into the top of the cabinet. A single press postpones the alarm without going through the front panel. The radio comes in black, white and ash.
