Cancelling the DC offset

A small DC offset on the mains saturates transformer cores, which then vibrate and hum. The Syncro Uni electronics rebalance the sine wave on the neutral line and drop that mechanical noise away. The unit sits in front of a single component, or upstream of a conditioner to rebalance all of its outlets.

The black chassis at three-quarters, side fins and top plate

Two finishes, one chassis

The chassis combines steel and aluminium over twenty-five centimetres of depth, for one and a half kilos. It comes in brushed silver and in black, with strictly identical electronics. The internal wiring mirrors the brand's own cords: silver-plated 6N oxygen-free copper, FEP dielectric.

The inlet face: mains socket, switch and fuse holder

An inlet deliberately restricted

The inlet face carries an IEC C14 socket, a switch and a fuse holder. The circuit would take 16 A, but IsoTek deliberately restricts it to 10 A for consistent operation. Accepted voltage runs from 100 to 240 V, at 50 or 60 Hz.

The output face and the five socket standards offered by IsoTek

Five socket standards

IsoTek offers the same unit in five socket standards, from the British BS 1363 to the Swiss T13. This listing is the Swiss version: the output socket is a T13, the one used on the country's wall outlets.
