Metamaterial absorption

The tweeter radiates as much backwards as forwards. Behind it, a metamaterial disc pierced with channels of differing lengths traps that rear wave and dissipates it as heat: 99% of the high-frequency energy never comes back to the cone. What is left is the signal.

The top of the range

1061 mm and 22.5 kg: the Q11 is the largest of the Q Meta. The bass reaches down to 37 Hz at −6 dB, two hertz below the Q7, and maximum output climbs to 113 dB. The crossovers sit at 480 Hz and 2.7 kHz.

Eighty-nine decibels

89 dB of sensitivity, the highest figure in the Q range. A 15 W amplifier is enough to make it sing, even though it accepts 225 W. That efficiency changes what you can put in front of it: a modest integrated amplifier holds the Q11 without straining.

Depth and room

380 mm of depth against 315 on the Q7: the extra internal volume is what buys the 37 Hz. So it needs space behind it, and a room large enough for 113 dB to mean something. Impedance drops to 3.2 Ω at minimum.
