DALI OPTICON VOKAL MK2 centre speaker, 6.5-inch woofer and hybrid tweeter module, made to sit below a screen.
The OPTICON VOKAL MK2 lies flat below a screen, on a cabinet or a shelf. The cabinet measures 201 x 435 x 312 mm and weighs 9.2 kg. DALI gives a rear wall distance of 0 to 30 cm.
The 6.5-inch bass/mid driver and the 44 Hz bass reflex tuning bring response down to 47 Hz at plus or minus 3 dB, which covers a male voice without calling on the subwoofer. Maximum output is 109 dB at one metre.
The 29 mm soft dome and the 17 x 45 mm ribbon are those of the rest of the series. The crossover sits at 2400 and 14000 Hz, two ways plus a half. Response reaches up to 30 kHz.
The VOKAL MK2 uses the same drivers as the OPTICON 6 and 8, so a voice moving from the centre to the fronts keeps the same timbre. Sensitivity 88 dB, impedance 4 ohms, power handling 30 to 150 W.
