BERLIN SUB 10 is housed in a closed cabinet 34 cm high and 30 cm wide and deep. Its floor-facing driver stays out of sight, keeping clean lines in matte black, matte white or walnut veneer. Argon Audio states that this model received an EISA award in the subwoofer category.
A 10-inch long-stroke driver, firing downwards, is driven by a Pascal Class D amplifier rated at 500 W RMS and 1200 W peak. The DSP platform continuously manages the driver's behaviour so it plays deeper with more control. Quoted frequency response runs from 14 to 250 Hz at ± 6 dB.
A built-in display and simple controls give access to the settings directly on the unit. The crossover frequency is adjustable from 30 to 250 Hz, phase can be tuned and delay covers 0.0 to 10.0 m, backed by a 3-band notch filter EQ. Speakermatch optimises the hand-over to all common speaker types, while Real Time Bass cuts internal processing delay to stay in sync with them.
The angled rear connection panel offers RCA and XLR inputs plus an RCA output, and lets the subwoofer sit right against the wall. BERLIN SUB 10 is ready for MATRIX Wireless: with the optional Matrix transmitter, announced by Argon Audio as coming soon, it can go wherever it sounds best, with no cable across the room. Switching on and standby are automatic, with less than 0.5 W drawn in standby.
