In the middle of the baffle, a coaxial driver places the 25 mm AL-MAC tweeter at the heart of the 152 mm AL-MAG midrange. The midrange uses the patented Dual-Sync continuous flux motor and the tweeter a dual-gap motor, with an OSW waveguide and a PPA lens. Voices stay clear and consistent, even from off-centre seats.
On either side of the coaxial, two 5.5 inch woofers with one-piece CARBON-X cones handle the bass below 700 Hz. Their ART surround and 1.5 inch multi-layer voice coil cope with demanding soundtracks. The speaker reaches down to 47 Hz to the DIN standard.
Designed as an LCR speaker, the 70LCR serves as a centre speaker laid horizontally or as a front left or right speaker stood vertically. It is 48 cm wide, 20.4 cm high and 31.3 cm deep, and weighs 13.6 kg. The Founder Series is designed, engineered and built near Toronto, Canada.
The faceted sealed cabinet is reinforced inside with Cascade-Fusion bracing, which stiffens the walls. The dual binding posts allow bi-wiring or bi-amping, with a recommended amplifier power of 15 to 220 W and an in-room sensitivity of 92 dB. It comes in satin Black Walnut and Walnut and in hand-rubbed high-gloss Piano Black.
