The Class D amplifier delivers 150 W per channel into 8 Ω and 250 W into 4 Ω. In bursts it supplies 725 W into 2 Ω with 25 A of peak current, enough to drive demanding loudspeakers. Distortion stays below 0.005% at two-thirds of full power, with a damping factor of 43.
The front panel brings together a 5-inch colour LCD display, a volume dial and four buttons. The bi-directional Zigbee remote works without line of sight, and the Focal & Naim app controls the unit from iOS or Android. Updates install wirelessly from the same app.
Two 5-pin DIN inputs and two RCA pairs take analogue sources. On the digital side, two optical TOSLINK inputs reach 24-bit/96 kHz, the coaxial RCA and BNC inputs 24-bit/192 kHz with DoP 64 Fs, and an HDMI ARC socket links the TV. A 4-pin DIN output, an RCA pair for bi-amping or a subwoofer and a 3.5 mm headphone socket sit alongside the speaker terminals.
AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Qobuz, Roon Ready, UPnP, internet radio and Bluetooth are built in. WAV files play up to 32-bit/384 kHz and DSD at 64 and 128 Fs. Party Mode syncs up to six Naim streamers, and external USB storage holds up to 20,000 tracks shared over the network.
