Twice twenty-two centimetres

Two 22.86 cm drivers mounted back to back share a Uni-Core motor: the forces cancel before they reach the cabinet, which stays still while the cones work. Where the KC62 fits inside a basketball, the KC92 takes on 352.5 × 330 × 360.5 mm and 20 kg — and returns close to twice the level, 110 dB against 105.

Eleven hertz

The curve reaches down to 11 Hz at ±3 dB and covers up to 200 Hz. Below 20 Hz the ear gives way to the skin: the infrasound of a soundtrack is felt before it is heard. The KC92 goes there with no audible compression, which comes down to the ratio between cone area and the volume of air enclosed.

P-Flex surround

The pleated suspension resists the internal pressure of the cabinet instead of giving in to it. The cone therefore moves only when the signal drives it, without the stray movement a conventional surround lets through as the pressure rises. The bass reaches lower and the sound keeps its edges.

One thousand watts and connections

Two 500 W Class D amplifiers, 1000 W RMS in total, share the two drivers. The rear panel gathers an RCA phono input, a speaker-level input and the expansion connector for the KW1 wireless kit, sold separately. The low-pass filter covers 40 to 140 Hz, LFE mode included.
