The Grand Horizon houses the Marantz Rise amplifier with GaN FET transistors, rated at 370 W under the FTC standard and 860 W peak. It drives eight drivers: an 8-inch Marantz Gravity woofer with a neodymium magnet, four 3-inch wideband units and three 1-inch tweeters. Response reaches down to 28 Hz at ±3 dB, and the level peaks at 111 dB at 1 m.
Linked to the TV over HDMI eARC, the speaker decodes Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Digital+, in 7.1 multichannel PCM up to 192 kHz/24-bit. Marantz Mirage, the in-house processing algorithm, works on the signal to extend the soundstage beyond the size of the enclosure. An optical input, a pair of RCA sockets and a USB-C playback port round off the connections, and the HDMI cable comes in the box.
HEOS Built-in opens up Spotify, TIDAL, Deezer, Amazon Music or TuneIn, and links the Grand Horizon to the other HEOS devices in the home. AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect and Bluetooth 5.4 take music from a phone, while dual-band 802.11ax Wi-Fi or Ethernet handle the network link. Crestron, Control4 and AMX systems can control the speaker over TCP/IP.
The round enclosure is wrapped in seamless Marantz Radiance 360° EcoFiber fabric, chosen for its acoustic transparency and durability. Three finishes are available, Midnight Sky, Moon Ray and Marantz Champagne, each on a matching natural marble base. The speaker measures 25.5 cm wide, 52.9 cm deep and 49.3 cm high, and weighs 21.3 kg.
